Submit and use WhatsApp templates

Outside a 24-hour window, WhatsApp only lets you send pre-approved templates. Templates are reviewed by Meta and usually approved in under an hour.

Template categories

• Utility — transactional (appointment reminders, OTPs, shipping updates).
• Marketing — promotional content. Higher per-message cost and stricter rules.
• Authentication — OTP codes only.

   Settings → WhatsApp → Templates → New

   Pick category and language.

   Write body with variables

   Use {{1}}, {{2}} for dynamic values. Open Doors maps them to contact fields at send time.

   Add header, footer, buttons

   Optional but high-converting (quick replies, URLs, phone numbers).

   Submit for approval

   Wait for Meta — usually < 1 hour.
