Valid SMS consent = clear disclosure of what they’re opting in to + an affirmative action (tick box, reply Y, form submission).

Minimum disclosure

  • Who is sending (your business name).
  • What messages they’ll receive ("appointment reminders and occasional offers").
  • Frequency ("up to 4 msgs/month").
  • "Msg & data rates may apply."
  • "Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."

Store the evidence

Open Doors logs the consent source, timestamp, IP, and the exact disclosure text shown. Keep for 3 years minimum. If a carrier challenges, this is what you show them.
