Tag management

Tags are lightweight labels you attach to contacts. Unlike custom fields, they are binary (the tag is there or it is not) and very fast to filter by.

Naming conventions that scale

• Prefix by type — lead-source-facebook, segment-vip, action-nurture-q2.
• Use hyphens, not spaces. Lowercase.
• Avoid tagging by stage — use Pipeline AI stages for that.
• Keep under 200 total tags. Merge duplicates regularly.

Merge, rename, delete

Settings → Tags shows every tag with its contact count. Click a tag to rename, merge it into another tag, or delete it (removes from all contacts).
